Mednax, a national medical group based in Sunrise, Fla., has acquired Memac Associates, a private anesthesiologist group in Warren, Mich., as well as Synergy Anesthesia, a related entity.
The deal incorporates Memac's 10 anesthesiologists and 18 part-time anesthetists in Mednax's American Anesthesiology division. The deal was a cash transaction and is expected to be immediately accretive to earnings. The company did not provide the purchase price or terms.
Memac's practice provides services at St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital and St. John Medical Center-Macomb Township ambulatory surgery center in Warren and at the two offices of Eastside Endoscopy Centers in St. Clair Shores, Mich.
Mednax employs more than 950 physicians and 1,400 anesthetists across 13 states in its American Anesthesiology division.
