Lyn Ketelsen has been appointed as Nashville-based HCA's first chief patient experience officer.
Ketelsen, who has a background in nursing, will join the for-profit hospital giant on Feb. 23 after working for 12 years at the Studer Group, a healthcare consultancy that specializes in patient experience improvement. She'll report to John Steele, HCA's SVP of human resources.
After starting as a staff nurse, Ketelsen worked her way up to become a nurse manager at Davenport, Iowa-based Genesis Health System, where she also served as an internal consultant on customer service strategy. During her time as a clinician, she gained experience in pediatrics and neonatal intensive care.
