Defense contractor Lockheed Martin, Bethesda, Md., has closed on its acquisition of Systems Made Simple, a Syracuse, N.Y.-based health data analytics and health information technology services provider working with the National Institutes of Health and the Veterans Affairs Department's Veterans Health Administration.
The deal is Lockheed's seventh of the year and signals its increasing move into healthcare. A Lockheed subsidiary also has been involved in HealthCare.gov.
Terms of the deal, announced in late October and consummated Monday, were undisclosed.
