Cognizant, the Teaneck N.J.-based global technology, consulting and business-process outsourcing company, has closed on its purchase of TriZetto Corp., Englewood, Colo., a provider of information technology systems and services to health plans and third-party benefits administrators.
Publicly traded Cognizant announced the $2.7 billon buyout of privately held TriZetto in September.
With TriZetto brought on board, Cognizant and TriZetto combined will serve nearly 245,000 healthcare providers and about 350 payers with approximately 180 million covered lives in the U.S., the company said in a statement.
"Together, we are uniquely positioned to deliver end-to-end solutions that allow healthcare organizations to improve operational efficiency, drive innovation and embrace next generation delivery models made possible by digital technologies,” Cognizant CEO Francisco D'Souza said in a release.
