A nurse who works in the clinical decision unit at Temple University Hospital has won $1 million in Lay's annual Do Us a Flavor contest. Meneko Spigner McBeth devised a winning potato chip combination using soy sauce, wasabi and ginger, which was inspired by her Japanese maternal grandmother. The kettle-cooked chips received the highest number of votes on social media and beat out contenders Cheddar Bacon Mac & Cheese, Cappuccino and Wavy Mango Salsa.

Dallas nurse Nina Pham showed improvement last week in her fight against Ebola, but that wasn't the only good news.
Her dog, Bentley, tested negative for Ebola, and is being cared for by the City of Dallas Animal Services. The 1-year-old King Charles spaniel will be tested again before his quarantine ends Nov. 1.
