A man who was being evaluated for Ebola at Boston's Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center does not have the deadly virus, the hospital said Monday evening.
"Our evaluation is now complete and we have determined with certainty the patient does not have Ebola Virus Disease," the hospital said in a statement.
The patient, who had reported travel to Liberia, remains in good condition. The man was transported to Beth Israel after he showed up at a physician's office of Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates in Braintree, Mass.
A nurse at Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas Hospital who treated deceased Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan remains the first reported patient who has received the virus by transmission within the U.S.
