Timothy Gaillard has been named senior VP and COO at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, Madison.
Gaillard, 50, succeeds Ronald Sliwinski, who was named CEO of the system in September. In his new roles, Gaillard will oversee several service lines at the medical center, including pharmacy, transplant and oncology, among others.
Gaillard joined UW Health in July 2010. Most recently he was VP for professional services. Before coming to UW, he was associate director and chief administrative officer at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, for five years.
Karen Westervelt has been named senior VP and COO at New York-Presbyterian Healthcare System.
Westervelt, 54, was most recently president and CEO of the William F. Ryan Community Health Network in New York. She also oversaw New York's implementation of federal and state healthcare reform as deputy commissioner of the Office of Primary Care and Health Systems Management in the state's Department of Health, and served as executive director at the Ryan/Chelsea-Clinton Community Health Center from 2004 to 2011.
Westervelt replaces Wayne Osten, who is retiring.
