Conifer Health Solutions, Frisco, Texas, the Tenet Healthcare Corp. division focused on financial services technology, has agreed to acquire SPi Healthcare, a Tinley Park, Ill.-based provider of revenue-cycle management, health information management and other software and services for physician practices in a deal valued at $235 million, the companies have announced.
The acquisition is expected to broaden significantly Conifers' customer base, as SPi brings on board 3,700 physician clients in 21 states served by 600 employees who handle more than $3 billion in charges annually from 2.5 million patient encounters, according to the company statement.
