Cardinal Health, a Dublin, Ohio-based distribution and medical supplies company, promoted two executives, naming Michael Kaufmann as CFO and Jon Giacomin as CEO of the pharmaceutical segment.
Kaufman, who has served as CEO of Cardinal Health's pharmaceutical segment since 2009, in November will replace Jeffrey Henderson, who announced in June that he would retire. Kaufman is 51. Giacomin, 49, previously served as executive VP of pharmaceutical operations.
Cardinal Health reported a 10% drop in revenue during the fourth quarter of its fiscal year. Revenue for the year also fell 10%, due in part to the decision by Walgreen Co. to instead contract with AmerisourceBergen, a competing medical distribution company. The company now has a deal with CVS Health, Walgreen's largest competitor.
