Patients treated at the 10-story Bridgepoint Active Healthcare facility in Toronto typically stay for about three months. With that in mind, much of the project is designed to inspire its rehabilitation-therapy patients and those with multiple chronic diseases or disabilities to shape their health outcomes by staying active and socializing. Bridgepoint offers communal dining rooms, a therapy pool, rooftop gardens, an outdoor fifth-floor terrace and other gathering points.
Judges gave the project a Citation in Modern Healthcare's Design Awards.
