The Veterans Affairs Department has named Christine Croteau permanent director of Edith Nourse Rogers VA Memorial Medical Center, a 461-bed facility in Bedford, Mass., effective this week.
Croteau had been serving as acting director of Bedford's VA hospital after former director Tammy Krueger left to lead Manchester (N.H.) VA Medical Center. Croteau also has other VA experience, including stints with the VA Boston Healthcare System.
“During these times of change for VA, I am honored to be selected and to be part of VA moving forward,” Croteau said in a statement. “Over the past three years, I have had the privilege of working with the employees and community partners to continue to improve healthcare for our veterans.”
Edith Nourse Rogers VA Memorial Medical Center is part of the VA New England Healthcare System, one of the VA's 23 integrated service networks. VA hospitals in Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Vermont fall within the New England network.
