Lytle, who has been with the Clinic for 38 years, is credited with launching the Heart & Vascular Institute in 2007 as a team of 1,000 caregivers, including 130 physicians, according to Hahn's announcement. He also extended the institute's reach throughout the country by launching the health system's first successful clinical consulting team. To date, the institute has forged 10 affiliations nationwide. Lytle also grew the Clinic's regional cardiovascular medicine practice to 43 cardiologists in 20 locations in Northeast Ohio.
Last month, U.S. News and World Report named the Clinic as the nation's No. 1 heart center for the 20th year in a row.
