Ildemaro Gonzalez has been named VP and chief diversity officer at Parkland Health & Hospital System, Dallas.
As diversity officer, a new position at the safety net provider, Gonzalez, 43, is tasked with promoting diversity and inclusion among Parkland's workforce. He also will work to foster relationships among vendors and civic organizations that enhance diversity.
Previously, Gonzalez was the global director of inclusion and philanthropy at Newell Rubbermaid, a publicly traded company known for consumer household products.
David Verinder has been named president and CEO of Sarasota (Fla.) Memorial Health Care System. He had been interim chief executive since May.
Verinder, 47, took over for Gwen MacKenzie, who stepped down after nearly a decade in the top job at Sarasota Memorial to take an executive position within the Michigan market of Ascension Health.
He joined Sarasota Memorial in 2006 as CFO. He later was promoted to COO.
Dr. Mark Del Beccaro has been named senior VP and chief medical officer at Seattle Children's effective Oct. 1.
Del Beccaro, 57, a pediatrician, has been VP of medical affairs at the hospital since 2012. He will replace Dr. David Fisher, who is retiring.
He first worked at Seattle Children's in 1979 as a nursing aide at what was then Children's Orthopedic Hospital, before beginning medical school at the University of Washington in 1981. He joined the faculty of Seattle Children's emergency department in 1989 and was appointed pediatrician-in-chief in 2007. He's also a professor at UW's medical school.
