Health manager Welltok adds two C-suite execs

Social health-management company Welltok added two new executives to its Denver-based leadership team July 31—Brian Ancell as president and COO and Linda Fenton as CFO.

Ancell, 49, joins Welltok after more than 17 years at Premera Blue Cross, a Blues plan based in Mountlake Terrace, Wash.

At Premera, Ancell most recently served as executive VP of healthcare services and strategic development. His responsibilities included leading the information technology division's integration and platform consolidation efforts and overseeing the execution and launch of several mobile and Web-based consumer engagement applications.

Fenton, 52, comes to Welltok from SpringBoard Strategic Advisors, where she was a principal leading the healthcare consulting practice for the Aliso Viejo, Calif., company. She also previously worked with Welltok Chairman and CEO Jeff Margolis at TriZetto Corp. There, Fenton served in senior management positions, including chief risk and compliance officer and interim CFO, during her more than 10-year tenure.

“Ancell's industry expertise and operational acumen is critical to help us scale the company and continue on our growth trajectory,” Margolis said in a release. “I'm also excited to bring Linda's wealth of financial experience to the organization and know that she'll provide the stability and discipline we need to aggressively fulfill our mission.”

Welltok specializes in optimizing population health management through patient rewards and incentives.
