Effective immediately, HCA has named Chris Taylor president of Parallon, the hospital chain's revenue-cycle management subsidiary.
Taylor, 51, has led Parallon as interim president since November 2013. Parallon ousted former CEO Michael O'Boyle, but did not elaborate on O'Boyle's departure, other than to comment that the company “decided to make a change in leadership direction.”
Taylor most recently served as CFO of Parallon. He has been with Nashville-based HCA for 29 years, also serving as CFO of HCA's TriStar Division, which comprises 17 hospitals in Southern states. Taylor will report to Bill Rutherford, HCA's CFO.
“His hospital leadership experience has given him a deep understanding of the challenges healthcare providers are facing,” Rutherford said in a news release. “We are confident Parallon will continue to help its clients succeed under Chris' continued leadership.”
Parallon provides revenue-cycle, staffing, supply chain and other outsourcing services to more than 1,400 hospitals, according to the company's website. A spokesman would not disclose how much revenue Parallon contributes to HCA.
