New York-Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan has named Dr. Henry Ting its new senior vice president and chief quality officer.
Ting, a cardiologist, directs New York-Presbyterian's clinical-quality and patient-safety initiatives. He previously was the associate dean of the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, Rochester, Minn., and also directed the Mayo Clinic Quality Academy, which provides quality-improvement education to all Mayo clinicians.
Ting started his role July 21. “New York-Presbyterian is one of the top academic medical centers for patient-centered care, research and education,” he said in a release. “I am honored and excited to work with our dynamic and creative teams to improve outcomes, safety and service that matter to our patients and communities.”
New York-Presbyterian is one of the largest hospitals in the country with more than 2,200 staffed beds.
Ting replaced Dr. Eliot Lazar, who died in January.
