Community Health Network, Indianapolis, has selected Dr. Michael Shrift to fill its chief medical information officer postion, effective July 7. He will also be a practicing consulting physician within CHN.
Shrift, 50, a psychiatrist, will oversee physician engagement and ensure all clinical systems and technologies are integrated across the eight-hospital system. CHN runs an Epic electronic health-record system.
Previously, Shrift served as associate CMIO of Cleveland Clinic. He also was CMIO and vice president for clinical knowledge management at Allina Health in Minneapolis.
Shrift was named as one of Modern Healthcare's top 25 clinical informaticists in 2011 and 2012.
