Michael Harris has been named vice president of development at Updox, a firm focused on technology solutions for healthcare providers.
Harris, 40, joined Updox July 7. In his role, he will oversee the development of products to expand the Updox Direct Network, a platform that helps physician groups, hospitals, electronic health-record vendors and others securely share patient data through direct email.
He previously held other information technology roles at Ecommerce and Pillar Technology.
“Mike's strong background in IT, business, architecture and system engineering provides outstanding cross-discipline management, making him the clear choice to lead the expansion of our software and product development to align with our strategic vision,” said Updox CEO Michael Morgan in a news release.
Updox's IT services are available to independent physicians directly or through partnerships with EHR vendors.
