Alan Yordy has assumed his role as board chairman of the Catholic Health Association of the United States for fiscal 2014-15.
Yordy, 62, serves as president and chief mission officer of PeaceHealth, a nine-hospital system based Vancouver, Wash. He replaces CHA's most recent board chair, Deborah Proctor, president and CEO of St. Joseph Health in Orange, Calif.
Sister Judith Ann Karam, 67, was elected as the chair-elect for fiscal 2015-16. Karam is the congregational leader of the Sisters of Charity of St. Augustine, which is the Catholic sponsor of four-hospital Sisters of Charity Health System in Cleveland.
CHA's board has 23 trustees altogether. The organization represents more than 600 hospitals and 1,400 other health facilities across the country, according to its website.
