Just what we don't need: another assistant to physicians. What do the physician assistants think of this option? Of course, this ignores nurse practitioners whose numbers are growing rapidly and have a strong presence in primary care, and have a 40+ year track record of success in providing quality, safe care to patients in rural and underserved areas.
