Norwegian American Hospital has named Mariusz Mazek chief information officer.
Mazek, 45, joined Norwegian, a 170-bed safety net hospital in Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood, in November 2010 as director of information technology services.
In his new role, Mazek will oversee Norwegian's electronic health-record implementation, health information exchange and adoption of other IT systems. Norwegian attested to Stage 1 meaningful use last year.
