“We see opportunities to build upon both the clinical reputation and on the marketing efforts of the previous owner and create an even stronger market presence that results in patient volume growth,” said Richard Turner, chairman and CEO of American CareSource Holdings, in a news release.
As the subsidiary of the American CareSource, ACS now operates four urgent-care clinics. In April, ACS entered that market by purchasing two urgent-care centers in the Atlanta suburbs from CorrectMed for $2.7 million.
Publicly traded ACS provides services and claims management to payers and self-funded organizations through its ancillary provider network, which includes laboratories and dialysis centers. In 2013, ACS posted $26.8 million in revenue.
