WVU Hospitals plans to expand its flagship facility, Ruby Memorial Hospital, from 531 beds to 645 by 2016, which Wright will oversee.
“I'm very excited to be taking this new position at Ruby Memorial and WVUH, especially at this time when it's growing to meet patient demands for advanced quality care,” Wright said in a news release. “Leadership there is clearly devoted to the vision and mission to improve the health of all West Virginians.”
WVU Hospitals is also the flagship of West Virginia United Health System, the largest health system in the state.
