Renown Health names Dr. Anthony Slonim CEO

    Dr. Anthony Slonim has been named president and CEO at Renown Health in Reno, Nev. He had most recently served as executive VP and chief medical officer for Barnabas Health in West Orange, N.J. Slonim replaces Don Sibery, Renown's interim CEO who had held the post since April 2013 after a management shakeup at the organization.

    Slonim is board-certified in internal medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine critical care and pediatric critical care and holds faculty appointments at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, the Jefferson College of Nursing and Health, and is a tenured professor of basic sciences, medicine and pediatrics at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.

    Jeff Snyder has been promoted to president and CEO of Pocono Health System and Pocono Medical Center effective May 20, after serving in the interim roles since April.

    Snyder, who joined the East Stroudsburg, Pa.-based organization in 2012, previously served as its senior VP and COO. Before that, Snyder was CEO of Mercy Suburban Hospital in Norristown, Pa., and COO of St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia.

    Todd Keating has been named CFO at Fletcher Allen Partners, Burlington, Vt., effective June 16.

    Keating most recently served as senior VP of business development at UMass Memorial Healthcare, Worcester, Mass. Keating worked on the merger of the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and Memorial Healthcare that formed the UMass system.

    Fletcher Allen Partners includes Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington; Central Vermont Medical Center, Berlin; CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Elizabethtown (N.Y.) Community Hospital. Fletcher Allen also has an alliance with the University of Vermont, forming Vermont's academic medical center.

    Dr. Grace Aldrovandi will become chief of the division of infectious diseases at Children's Hospital Los Angeles on July 1.

    Aldrovandi has two decades of experience caring for children with infectious diseases. Since 2003, she has been an investigator at the Saban Research Institute of Children's Hospital Los Angeles, where she leads a research program to study the transmission of HIV in breast milk. Aldrovandi also serves as a professor of pediatrics, pathology, and molecular microbiology and immunology at the University of Southern California's Keck School of Medicine.

    INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

    Medfusion, a Cary, N.C.-based developer of patient portals for physician offices, has named Michael Raymer VP of solutions management.

    Raymer, 54, who has held executive positions at companies that include Microsoft Corp., GE Healthcare and M*Modal, joins Medfusion with more than two decades of leadership experience in the development of healthcare enterprise software, medical devices and consumer health products.

    MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY

    InformedDNA, a provider of genetic counseling services, has tapped Lee Fowinkle as chief technology officer of the St. Petersburg, Fla.-based company. Fowinkle's responsibilities involve oversight of the firm's technology infrastructure along with the building and deployment of a genetic testing utilization-management-automation system.

    Fowinkle joins InformedDNA from McKesson Corp.'s physician-practice solutions business where he was senior VP of technology.
