InformedDNA, a provider of genetic counseling services, has tapped Lee Fowinkle as chief technology officer of the St. Petersburg, Fla.-based company.
Fowinkle joins InformedDNA from McKesson Corp.'s physician-practice solutions business where he was senior VP of technology. He brings with him more than 20 years of leadership experience for engineering and product management organizations, including GE Healthcare and Homecare Homebase.
In his new role, Fowinkle's responsibilities involve oversight of InformedDNA's technology infrastructure along with the building and deployment of a genetic testing utilization-management-automation platform.
“We are enthusiastic about Lee joining InformedDNA because of the important and innovative work he will be doing in our digital space,” InformedDNA CEO David Nixon said in a news release. “The IT infrastructure Lee will be creating is critical to our scalability and growth management, as well as creating opportunities for us to offer new services to our health plan and hospital customers.”
