D. Bates Mattison has been named executive director of the Institute for Healthcare Information Technology. Mattison has spent the past 20 years working in healthcare management.
“I'm honored and excited to get involved with projects that are currently underway, and to evaluate potential projects that could be opportunities for IHIT,” he said in a statement announcing his appointment.
The Atlanta-based nonprofit institute has a stated focus on healthcare IT projects that improve health, increase efficiency and deliver measurable results.
Mattison's experience and leadership skills “will be instrumental in the engagement of projects that deliver on our mission of improving lives through healthcare IT, not only in Georgia but throughout the US,” said Pat Williams, board chair of the Institute, in a statement.
