Explorys, a big-data company founded as a spinoff from Cleveland Clinic in 2009, named Thomas Chickerella as its chief operating officer.
Chickerella, 50, joined Explorys' strategic leadership team from Vanguard Health Systems, Nashville, where he served as chief performance officer and system vice president of supply chain and performance improvement. He brings more than 20 years of lean performance-management experience to his new role, in which he will be responsible for oversight of daily operations. Those responsibilities will include talent management, program management and process improvement, in addition to working with the company's leadership team on strategy, vision, prioritization and team development, according to a company release.
