Thomas Steiner is the new CEO of Hancock Medical Center in Bay St. Louis, Miss.
Effective April 7, Steiner joins Hancock with more than two decades of healthcare management experience. He most recently served as the administrative representative supporting Waynesboro, Ga.'s Burke Medical Center. At Burke, Steiner, 52, functioned as an independent contractor tasked with helping turn-around efforts at the facility.
In February, Hancock Medical formalized an agreement to have New Orleans-based Ochsner Health System manage Hancock for two years.
“This relationship ensures continued high-quality services and affordable healthcare for residents of Hancock County and surrounding communities and it will also provide specialty services between Hancock Medical and Ochsner that are not available at Hancock Medical today,” Larry Ladner, Hancock’s board of trustees president, said in a release. “We are excited about our hospital’s future and we appreciate being able to add CEO Thomas Steiner to the team.”
