Humana named Goldman Sachs managing director Brian Kane senior VP and CFO, effective June 1.
Kane, 41, has worked for the investment bank for the past 17 years. The Louisville, Ky.-based health insurer said in a news release that his work at Goldman included serving as lead financial adviser for significant transactions among managed-care organizations, and that he gained relevant insight working with restaurant, consumer-product and retail clients.
Steven McCulley, interim CFO since January, will become chief accounting officer when Kane joins the company.
Humana CEO Bruce Broussard said in the release that Kane “brings financial and strategic breadth that will nicely complement the operational depth” of McCulley.
Kane will be paid a base salary of $600,000 and a signing bonus of $500,000, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
