Christiana Care's Laskowski to retire at end of year

After 11 years with Christiana Care Health System, Dr. Robert Laskowski will retire as president and CEO at the end of this year.

Laskowski, 62, joined the Newark, Del.-based not-for-profit health system after serving as chief medical officer for Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network in Allentown, Pa. Since then, he has been instrumental in guiding facility expansion projects, launching an initiative to transform the organization's culture and achieving recognition for quality and patient safety.

“I have every confidence in the Christiana Care Board and our leadership team to make this transition one of continued transformation and creating greater value for those we serve,” Laskowski said in a news release.

Board-certified in internal medicine with a specialty in geriatric medicine, Laskowski has also served as a professor of clinical medicine at Jefferson Medical College and a senior fellow at the Jefferson School of Population Health at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He is also an adjunct professor at the College of Health Sciences at the University of Delaware and an associate dean for medical education at Penn State University College of Medicine.
