Perthera names Madhavan data chief

Subha Madhavan is now chief data officer for Personalized Cancer Therapy, the McLean, Va.-based cancer therapy firm doing business as Perthera.

In her new role, effective March 3, Madhavan's responsibilities include strategic planning and oversight of the firm's data analytic framework, its data standards and quality control of data. She will also work with the company's CIO to develop data analytic and reporting advances to the Perthera Expert System, the firm's proprietary system of molecular cancer profiles used to recommend individualized treatment therapies.

"We're pleased to have Subha join our dedicated team of scientific professionals as we help find new hope for advanced stage cancer patients."

Madhavan, 39, also currently serves as director of the Innovation Center for Biomedical Informatics at the Georgetown University Medical Center and as an associate professor of oncology.
