Regarding “'We can't afford' healthcare's continuing increases, Aetna chief says”:
Insurance companies, with all their phony rules, are a major part of the problem. If their costs go up 10%, they simply increase premiums 12%. They are not in business to lose money.
Why do they support all the facility fees for simple procedures like cyst removals being done in the hospital OR? Why wouldn't they encourage outpatient vasectomies vs. tubals when the former costs only 25% of the latter with far fewer complications? The list goes on and on.
