The patient came to physician assistant Debra Newman with a severe case of scoliosis. Over time, his regular pain had become severe. To develop a treatment plan, Newman sat down in front of her computer screen in her Española, N.M., office and consulted with experts in the University of New Mexico's Project ECHO Chronic Pain and Headache Program.
