More than a thousand patients have received letters from officials at St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital notifying them that their personal health information may have been compromised following the theft of a hospital laptop.
Hospital officials discovered that a password-protected laptop connected to an electroencephalogram machine was stolen from the facility Dec. 22. The device included the name, date of birth, gender, date of service, type of service and physician name for approximately 1,100 patients.
