Kindred Healthcare, Louisville, Ky., named C. Scott Blanchette CIO, effective Feb. 17.
Blanchette replaces CIO Richard Chapman, whose retirement became effective Dec. 31. Blanchette brings more than 20 years of information technology experience to the role, most recently serving as senior VP and CIO for Vanguard Health Systems, Nashville.
“Scott's leadership skills, strategic vision and healthcare experience will help us continue to develop our technology platforms that support our mission of providing quality patient care,” President and COO Benjamin Breier said in a release. “His knowledge and background will be instrumental in the further development of our health information exchange, which facilitates the sharing of electronic patient data between Kindred's sites of care and with external healthcare partners.”
