Legislation that would force Oklahoma hospitals to disclose prices for up to 100 procedures and publicly post them on a state Health Department website passed a House committee last week, the Oklahoman reports.
The legislation requires hospitals provide the amounts they're usually paid for services billed under the state's Medicaid program as well as Medicare, which recently disclosed hospital charges and typical payments on a federal website. Prices charged people without insurance would also have to be disclosed, the report said.
