The North Carolina agency running Medicaid
is getting two fresh sets of eyes to look at their finance and audit offices as Gov. Pat McCrory's administration seeks a better handle on a program that spends $13 billion annually.
The Department of Health and Human Services announced Friday it's entered into one-year contracts with two firms valued up to $3.7 million combined.
The firm Alvarez and Marsal will provide technical assistance to the finance section of the Division of Medical Assistance for up to $3.25 million. Navigant Healthcare will conduct an organizational assessment of the division's program integrity and audit section.
DHHS has entered into several personal service contracts in the past year with individuals to help address shortcomings within the department.
