Most recent employer: Since 2000, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he held several positions, among them: chief of cardiology, associate dean of healthcare entrepreneurship and executive director of the McAllister Heart Institute.
On his priorities: Delivering safe, high-quality care for patients, emphasizing outcomes and efficiency. “So much of hospital management is focused on bottom-line finances,” he says.
