Harry Totonis, president and CEO of Surescripts, will step down in March, the Arlington, Va.-based national clinical network announced.
Totonis has been with Surescripts since 2008, shortly after its merger with RxHub, and led it through its acquisition of Kryptiq in 2012. The company is working with an executive search firm to find a replacement. A reason for Totonis' departure was not given.
“Harry is a visionary—responsible for the transformation of Surescripts into the nation's leading clinical network that is shaping how healthcare connects and communicates by expanding capabilities to enable interoperability between health systems, physicians and pharmacists,” said Dr. Steven Miller, co-chairman of Surescripts' board of directors.
"I joined Surescripts with very clear objectives for the business, and I am proud that we have not just achieved them, but exceeded them,” Totonis said in the statement.
Surescripts operates a national clinical network that connects pharmacies, payers, pharmacy benefit managers, physicians, hospitals, integrated delivery networks, health information exchanges and health technology firms.
