Teva taps board member Vigodman as president and CEO

Teva Pharmaceutical Industries named Erez Vigodman president and CEO, less than three months after Dr. Jeremy Levin resigned from the Jerusalem-based drugmaker.

Vigodman, 54, has served as a Teva board member since 2009 and currently is as president and CEO of Makhteshim Agan Industries, a Tel Aviv-based manufacturer of generic pesticides. His appointment is effective Feb. 11.

Teva Chairman Dr. Phillip Frost said in October that the company and Levin had taken different views about the direction of the company, which led to Levin's resignation.
