Erdman, a nurse who has served in neonatal intensive care, women's health, labor and delivery, high-risk obstetrics, GYN surgery, oncology and hospice care, brings more than three decades of experience in healthcare and nonprofits.
“Caring for women and infants and advocating for their health and well-being has been the foundation of my professional career,” Erdman said in a release.
Most recently, Erdman served as head of the Commission on Cancer breast cancer accreditation programs, National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers and the national cancer database nationwide for the American College of Surgeons. She also completed a four-year term as chair of the North Carolina Advisory Committee on Cancer Coordination and Control and chair of the Cervical Cancer Task Force.
