Richard Cordova, president and CEO of Children's Hospital Los Angeles, has been nominated chairman-elect of the American College of Healthcare Executives for 2014-15. Current ACHE chairman-elect Christine Candio, CEO of Inova Alexandria (Va.) Hospital and senior VP of Inova Health System in Falls Church, Va., will become chairman.
Cordova previously chaired the Institute for Diversity in Health Management, cofounded by the ACHE. He cited the importance of bringing together diverse professions—doctors, nurses, executives—across the healthcare continuum as the industry changes. “The integration and transformation of healthcare is what's going on, and as a college, what a perfect organization to bring those pieces together,” Cordova said.
