Port Huron (Mich.) Hospital will become McLaren Health Care system's 12th facility under a letter of intent signed earlier this month.
Regional News/Midwest: McLaren Health Care to add another Mich. hospital
Blue Water Health Services, which owns the 186-bed hospital, chose McLaren following a six-month review period that included eight suitors for the facility. The group has been working with financial services firm Juniper Advisory since May to explore strategic opportunities for the hospital.
Financial terms were not disclosed. The deal will also include Port Huron's other subsidiaries, including Marwood Nursing and Rehab and the Port Huron Hospital Foundation.
McLaren is headquartered about 70 miles west of Port Huron in Flint, Mich. The not-for-profit system in November said it signed an agreement to purchase the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit.
