Mark Tolosky, president and CEO of Springfield, Mass.-based Baystate Health since 2004, plans to step down next year and will be succeeded by Dr. Mark Keroack.
Tolosky, 62, will retire in July, a Baystate Health spokesman said. Keroack, 59, joined the system in 2011 as president of Baystate Medical Practices. He was promoted to executive VP and COO for the system this year and in January is expected to take over as president and CEO of Baystate Medical Center, the system's flagship hospital.

Along with Baystate Medical Center, Baystate Health operates two other hospitals in Massachusetts: Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield and Baystate Mary Lane Hospital in Ware.
On Wednesday the system announced plans to acquire Wing Memorial Hospital and Medical Centers, a hospital in Palmer, Mass., from UMass Memorial Health Care, another Massachusetts-based health system. The two organizations said they signed a letter of intent to propose transfer of Wing Memorial's ownership to Baystate Health
