Calif. med school offers full scholarships in effort to combat state's doc shortage

In California, Medicaid applications have jumped since the Oct. 1 launch of the state's insurance exchange, and the projection is for 1.4 million new applications in 2014. With the state already facing a doctor shortage, the University of California at Riverside Medical School is offering five full scholarships to students willing to choose primary care and practice in the state for at least five years.
