Brigham and Women's Hospital, an academic medical center in Boston that is a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School, named Dr. Cedric Priebe CIO.
Priebe, 51, currently serves as CIO and senior VP of information services at the Care New England Health System based in Providence, R.I. He is expected to join Brigham and Women's Hospital in January.
He replaces Sue Schade, who in 2012 was named CIO of University of Michigan Hospitals and Health Centers. Bill Johnston, COO of Brigham and Women's Physicians Organization, during the search process served as interim CIO of Brigham and Women's Hospital, which is part of the Partners HealthCare system, the largest hospital system in Massachusetts.
