William Foley rejoins Huron Consulting Group and other news

William Foley rejoined Huron Consulting Group after stints with Vanguard Health Systems and Cook County (Ill.) Health and Hospitals System.

Foley, 62, worked with Huron from 2007 until 2009, when he was hired as the first CEO of Cook County's public hospital system after the county board voted to give it an independent governance structure. He resigned in 2011 to lead Vanguard's four Chicago-area hospitals.

The Nashville-based chain, which was acquired this year by Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare Corp., removed Foley in July in a management shuffle carried out while the deal was pending.

Foley is now a managing director with Huron Healthcare's practice focused on public hospitals, systems and academic medical centers. He will work with those clients on performance improvement, strategy and governance.

Providence Health & Services hired Paul Gaden as CEO of its hospital in Portland, Ore.

Gaden has been VP and COO of Christus Health's Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi—Memorial and Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi—Shoreline. He joined Christus in 2009 as VP of performance improvement and ancillary services for the Spohn hospitals.

In addition to leading Providence Portland Medical Center, Gaden will provide leadership support to the Renton, Wash.-based system's Oregon hospitals in Hood River, Oregon City and Milwaukie.

Denise Hines was named executive director of the Georgia Health Information Network, a collaborative of public and private organizations working to establish a statewide health information exchange.

Hines will retain her role as CEO of eHealth Services Group, a consulting firm the network hired to provide staffing for the project.

Hines, who is president of the Georgia chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, was on the team that wrote the strategic and operational plan for the exchange.

Cheryl King was named CFO of PaySpan, an Atlanta-based reimbursement and payment

software company.

King comes to PaySpan from Account Pros, a business process outsourcing firm, where she was interim CFO. She previously was a group CFO for payment processor First Data Corp.

The CFO position is a new one at PaySpan, which serves 500,000 healthcare providers and 500 health plans, according to the company.

Jack Towsley has joined Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas as divisional senior VP for the company's healthcare delivery segment. Since February 2012, Towsley had been senior VP, payer relations, for Naples, Fla.-based hospital chain Health Management Associates. He previously spent 10 years in various roles for Nashville-based HCA.

At the Texas Blues, Towsley will lead the insurer's network strategy, including contract negotiation for new value-based care models. The company recently entered an arrangement with Tenet Healthcare Corp. to launch a statewide accountable care organization.

Bon Secours St. Francis Health System has chosen Dr. Anselmo Nuñez as CEO of Bon Secours Medical Group, its affiliation of physician partners and medical practices based in Greenville, S.C.

Nuñez, a surgeon who has held a variety of senior executive positions, most recently served as senior VP of the medical operations specialty division for Aurora Medical Group in Milwaukee.
