Oregon Gov. John Kitzhaber is bringing in executive help to get Oregon's surprisingly troubled health insurance exchange going.
Kitzhaber said Friday that Greg Van Pelt, former chief executive of Providence Health & Services' Oregon division, will “lend his expertise and provide an independent, outsider's view of Cover Oregon.”
The exchange's online enrollment system was not ready to launch on schedule Oct. 1, and the organization still hasn' enrolled a single person through a paper-based backup system.
