Denise Hines was named executive director of the Georgia Health Information Network, a collaborative of public and private organizations working to establish a statewide health information exchange.
Hines will retain her role as CEO of eHealth Services Group, a consulting firm that the network has hired to provide staffing for the project.
The not-for-profit network is responsible for providing the information exchange with governance, project management, policy development, financial planning, infrastructure development and marketing.
Hines, who is president of the Georgia chapter of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, was on the team that wrote the strategic and operational plan for the exchange.
“With her past accomplishments and vast HIT experience, the board is certain that GaHIN will continue to be an effective and successful organization,” Dennis White, the network's CEO, said in a news release.
