Dr. Amy Mullins is the new medical director for quality improvement at the American Academy of Family Physicians, a Leawood, Kan.-based organization with 110,600 members.
Mullins, 40, succeeds Dr. Bruce Bagley. Bagley, 66, was recently named president and CEO of TransforMED, the medical-home consulting arm of the AAFP.
Mullins has been a family physician and medical director at Trinity Clinic in Whitehouse, Texas, where she has practiced since 2002. She also served as physician champion of the systemwide medical home implementation for the Tyler, Texas-based Trinity Mother Frances Health System.
